The library sponsors art exhibits and houses a small collection of original and reproduction artwork. Stay tuned to learn about the 2011-2012 exhibit calendar.
Current Exhibit (Feb 9 to 23)
Continuing with its effort to exhibit the work of local artists, Southwestern Adventist University is pleased to showcase the original artwork of Ann Hardy and Doug Clark.
This exhibit is an encore for Doug whose bronze sculpting demonstration during the opening of a March 2011 show was very well received. His Native Texan longhorn, a favorite of gallery visitors, will be on exhibit along with his memorable horned toads as well as new works.
Regardless of subject, Ann's paintings have a nostalgic tone. This is more evident in pieces like Butterfly Girl from her pioneer times series. Her color palette usually conveys a sense of serenity even if the subject is Elk Sparring for a Harem. An ensemble of her intriguing Forest Secrets themed works will be a central part of the exhibit..
