When you have found the citation(s), you go to the shelves to locate the article(s). Articles not available in our library may be obtained through interlibrary loan. Our library databases, found on our web page, offer many options for locating material in history. These databases are online indexes. Some of them have only the citation (the information on where the article is found and who wrote it) and an abstract (a short description of the article). Other databases offer some or all full-text articles. In other words, the whole article is on the computer. The ones most likely to help you in your research are listed below.

Academic Search Premier – The greatest number of full text, peer-reviewed journals found in any database. Provides a broad spectrum of data in social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies.
ATLA Religion – Indexes over 600 publications covering biblical studies, world religions, church history, and social issues, with full text from more than 50 journals.
World History Collection – Provides full text for almost 150 titles with coverage back to 1964. Covers a wide range of topics from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North & South America.

Encyclopedia Britannica

Full-text access to the encyclopedia, atlas, and dictionary articles of Encyclopedia Britannica, as well as EB’s recommended Websites.

AH Search – (Arts and Humanities Search). Indexes the world’s leading arts and humanities journals, plus selected social science journals from over 1,100 sources. Includes some full text from WilsonSelectPlus.

ArticleFirst – Indexes articles from more than 15,000 sources, from 1990 to the present. Covers business, humanities, popular culture, science, social science and technology. Includes some full text from WilsonSelectPlus.

BiographyInd – Indexes articles, autobiographies and books for biographical subjects from antiquity to the present. Covers individuals and collective biographies from all fields and nationalities.

NetLibrary

Provides access to a collection of 28,274 e-books. NetLibrary eBooks are digital full-text versions of books such as reference works, scholarly monographs, literature and fiction in all subjects.
