When you have found the citation(s), you go to the shelves to locate the article(s). Articles not available in our library may be obtained through interlibrary loan. Databases

Our library databases, found on our web page, offer many options for locating material in the social sciences. These databases are online indexes. Some of them have only the citation (the information on where the article is found and who wrote it) and an abstract (a short description of the article). Other databases offer some or all full-text articles. In other words, the whole article is on the computer. The ones most likely to help you in your research are listed below.

Academic Search Premier – The greatest number of full text, peer-reviewed journals found in any database. Provides a broad spectrum of data in social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies.

ATLA Religion – Indexes over 600 publications covering biblical studies, world religions, church history, and social issues, with full-text from more than 50 journals.

Bibliography of Native North Americans
– Covers all aspects of Native North American life from the sixteenth century to the present. Includes more than 80,000 citations, some with full text, for books, essays, journal articles and government documents.

MasterFile Premier
– Provides full text for nearly 2,050 general reference publications. Information dates as far back as 1975. Includes biographies, primary source documents, and an Image Collection of photos, maps and flags.

Military and Government Collection
– Full-text for more than 400 periodicals and journals. Abstracts for additional sources of news and scholarly information on all branches of the military.

World History Collection
– Provides full text for almost 150 titles with coverage back to 1964. Covers a wide range of topics from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North & South America.
