With funding provided by the Texas State Library & Archives Commission (TSLAC) under its TexTreasures Grant program, the library has just released a first batch of digitized Southwestern yearbooks. Patrons can access issues of the Mizpah through the Adventist Digital Library. Currently, 18 yearbooks containing over 3,000 pages are available, and work is underway to make the rest available by the end of the school year.

This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to TSLAC under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act. Other items slated for digitization include The Southwesterner, the longest running student publication in campus history, and letters by Adventist pioneer in Texas John Rust, including many depicting his experience as a Union soldier during the civil war.

The yearbooks are available in PDF format and are easy to browse and download from the Adventist Digital Library. They do not include directories out of a concern for privacy.
